As part of the final year minor project we were tasked with designing and making a small, simple silicone creature. I designed the 'Crabobble', a bob tail fish, jelly fish and crab hybrid. The scenario for the creature was inspired by the film Alien, where the creature latched onto the face of it's victim and sucks the life from them.
I sculpted the creature from chavant and then made fiberglass molds for each element. I cast in Ecoflex - 0030 silicone and painted with Psycho Paint and oil paints.
