I am currently enrolled in the bachelor's degree, Design for Film in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology. Throughout the course I have touched on everything to do with the art department in the film, tv and theatre industry. The course brings together Costume Design, Modelmaking, VFX/Games, Character Makeup and Production Design to collaborate on all projects.
I have specialised in Modelmaking. I have participated in group projects with all the disciplines within the course as well as extra curricular projects with TV and Film students from the National Film School. I have also gained valuable experience during my industry work placement in a variety of areas from street theatre, construction modelmaking, molding for life casts and the art department.
I am highly driven and motivated with a high level of technical skill and great initiative when it comes to new challenges and design-based obstacles. I am competent, hardworking, and work well individually or as part of a group. I hold a full drivers license and own my own car. My passion and attention to detail encourages me to strive for excellence in all tasks. I am eager to learn and discover all aspects of Modelmaking and set building.
Skills & Abilities
Experience with variety of materials ~ Clays, Resins, Fibreglass, Foams, Silicones, Plaster, Latex, Wood, Fabrics.
Experience with a variety of handheld tools ~ Drills, Sanders, Multitool, Angle-grinder, Saws, Dremel etc.
Experience with a variety of bigger machinery ~ Bandsaw, Sanders, Hot-wire, De-gasser.
Proficient in Procreate.
Experience calculating costs and quantities for makes/builds, prop sourcing and buying.
Experience with concept-to-stage/set project management and designer/art department liaison.
Experience with set dressing.
Full Irish driving license and own car.
Can provide some of my own tools/equipment.
